I'm actually confused and wants to know which work's best between Wordpress vs Blogger? I also post this question actually started a forum to blogcatalog since I want to know bloggers opinion about this one for the reason that I will soon buy a domain name and pay for hosting but as to what template should i be using I cant decide yet.
So to gain answers and to help me decide over this matter, i decided to blog about this and hoping to get opinions from my valued readers and fellow bloggers. I also tried signing up at wordpress and honestly i find it a little difficult compared to my experience when i first start blogspot. But infairness to wordpress they offer more features (plug-in) than blogger.
So please drop me a line or comment if you got something to say about this post and i would like to thank you in advance for doing so. I really don`t know how to compare the two since I have not yet use wordpress...
ReplyDeleteBut all I could tell you is that, blogger is so user-friendly and it`s so easy to experiment with templates and layout.
There is a world of difference between self-hosted and using a free site like blogger or wordpress.com.
ReplyDeleteI've used the wordpress platform for a fair number of years now and have found it to be robust, customizable and the fact that it has a ton of support out there doesn't go amiss.
That being said, there IS a difference between it and Blogger and there will be a learning curve for you if you decide to employ wordpress. It's not at all difficult to learn, it's just DIFFERENT.
You should be googling for wordpress themes and looking through all the free themes out there, finding the one (or ones) that has the basics that you want (customizable header image, particular width for content, multiple sidebars or only one, color scheme).
Also bear in mind that wordpress is getting ready to release a new version. While upgrading wordpress is fairly easy with the help of the automatic upgrade plugin, since the release dates is so close, you might want to wait for that new version release before you install it and get started.
Whatever your decision, good luck and don't hesitate to ask for help from those of us in the community who have been using Wordpress for a long time.
